Fateful night...
They say chiropractic is
caught... not taught. Some of us hear
the story of chiropractic, and it resonates
somewhere deep inside us the Truth that within
us are the answers to our healing - that
Wholeness is a unique and
individual experience. When you learn
that there is a system integrating science,
philosophy and art in alignment with the Knowing that
Health Comes From Within... you have to
find out more.
Some of us need that experience.
It was a fateful night—no one else showed up.
I had been invited to a chiropractic office for their
"health talk." Two chiropractors told me the
Chiropractic Story of how the nerve system is the
master system controlling all other cells, tissues,
and systems in the body. They explained that when
there is an interference in the nerve system,
particularly the spine, a person is not able to
function at their highest potential. The life force
within us gets reduced or restricted like a kinked
garden hose. The idea made sense. Yet, the magic
happened when I received my first-ever chiropractic
adjustment.
I laid on the adjustment table
for 10 minutes while very gentle, specific
chiropractic adjustments were administered to my
spine. During the process, I felt my body relax
and become more energized. The most remarkable
thing I felt after the adjustment happened while
walking out of the office -- an incredible sense of
mental clarity. I thought, "This is what I'm going to
help people achieve!" From then on, I knew I was
going to be a Chiropractor.
