Your First Visit...  What To Expect

Congratulations for taking control of your life and health and seeking more information. We hope our site is useful. Many people are anxious about visiting doctors, and wonder what to expect on their first trip to the chiropractor.paperwork

Our goal at Eldridge Family Chiropractic is to provide a comfortable, professional and personable atmosphere. When you first arrive you'll be greeted and welcomed to the office. Our initial paperwork involves questions about your perspectives on health, objectives for care in our office, any current health issues you're experiencing, and various questions about your current lifestyle. This gives us information about you and gives you an opportunity to reflect on your current quality of life. It's a great time to consider where you've been, where you are and where you'd like to go.

When your paperwork is finished you'll have a chance to sit down privately with Dr. Brad. He'll review your information with you and help make an initial determination of how chiropractic can help you. You will also have an opportunity to learn what chiropractic is, what it is not, and how chiropractic can fit into your overall picture of  lifestyle, fitness, and connectedness to life.

The next step is a thorough chiropractic exam. The exam involves two parts. First, a computerized sEMG (Surface Electromyelogram) of your chiropractic exam neck and low back will be taken. This is a tool similar to an EKG of the heart, but the sEMG measures electrical activity along the spine. The resulting graph will show the intensity and pattern of tension you're currently carrying. After the sEMG, Dr. Eldridge will perform a physical examination of your spine to detect the location of vertebral subluxations. A variety of other simple tests will also be done to help determine which areas of your spine are being affected. This will conclude your first visit.

After the examination, information from the two parts must be combined and analyzed by Dr. Brad and you will be rescheduled for a report of findings on your second visit. During the report visit, the results from your exam will be explained to you, questions will be answered, and recommendations for your care explained. After the report you will be able to receive your first life enhancing chiropractic adjustment.

Our goal is to give you all the information necessary for you to make well-informed decisions about your life and health. All the actions and decisions you have made in the past have brought you to where you are today. The decisions and actions you take today will determine where you end up tomorrow. At Eldridge Family Chiropractic we want to contribute to you getting to a better place tomorrow... we're "adjusting the quality of your life."
